Mikala Jamison

Associate News Editor

Mikala Jamison joined Global Press Journal in 2018 as an Associate News Editor. She graduated from the University of Delaware in 2010 with a degree in English, Journalism, and Film, and has worked as an intern in several newsrooms along the East Coast. Before moving to the DC area, she lived in Philadelphia for five years, and can recommend the best places to eat there (not cheesesteaks!)

Previously, Mikala has worked as an editor at the reproductive justice-focused news organization Rewire; as arts and culture editor at Philadelphia City Paper, where she won two Keystone Press Awards; and as an instructor at the literacy advocacy nonprofit Writopia Lab, where she taught writing to young people while continuing to write freelance pieces for DC-local and national publications. She simply loves storytelling in all its forms.
