Meliha Hameed

Journalism Education Specialist

Meliha Hameed joined Global Press Institute in 2017 and is responsible for the education, safety and security of our journalists. Having extensive learning and development experience in a variety of industries and being passionate about social justice and animal welfare; she was invited to present her research findings on Addressing Discrimination against LGBT Muslim Americans: What Counselors Can Do at Boston College’s fourteenth annual Diversity Challenge conference.

Meliha graduated summa cum laude with a MSc in Applied Educational Psychology from Northeastern University’s Bouvé College of Health Sciences. She studied International Business at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan, Italy while attaining BA degrees in Philosophy and Political Science from East Carolina University.

A native New Yorker, Meliha lives in Washington, DC and loves the city’s architecture and history. When she’s not writing curricula, Meliha enjoys reading the classics, painting and is working on her first novel.
