Identifying new business models to sustain quality journalism has been a focal point of Amer’s +15 year career with leading media organizations like the Washington Post (10 years), Foreign Policy (7 years) and Global Trade (1 year). At the Washington Post, he helped secure new revenue streams with their budding conference division; at Foreign Policy, he created a new consulting and research business that helped countries interact with their target audience in new ways. What unites all his media jobs is an appreciation for high quality editorial. Amer graduated from Carnegie Mellon with a B.S. in Economics and earned his M.B.A. from Columbia University. He’s currently an adjunct professor at George Mason University.
